Job Title: Operations Associate
Location: Charles R. Wood Theater, Glens Falls
Job Type: Part-Time, Year-Round
(Evenings and Weekends, Approx. 20 Hours per week dependent on theater schedule)
Pay: $19/hr

The Charles R. Wood Theater is a vibrant performing arts venue committed to supporting the arts community by providing a safe, accessible and supportive environment for productions, rehearsals, classes and events.
Located in the heart of Glens Falls, the Wood Theater is home to dozens of organizations, hundreds of performers and tens of thousands of audience members.
We are seeking an Operations Associate to join our team and provide evening and weekend support to our Full-Time Leadership Team. This role is perfect for anyone with a passion for the arts, a basic understanding of performing arts operations and excellent customer service skills.
Role Overview: The Operations Associate will provide support to audiences, renting organizations and producers during their time in the building for events of all kinds – performances, rehearsals, parties and more. The Operations Associate will be a face of the theater, ensuring guests utilizing the theater enjoy a safe, smooth and consistent rental experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Support & Service: Serve as the representative of the Wood Theater for audiences, renters and producers – providing as-needed assistance before, during and after events and escalating questions, concerns or updates to the appropriate parties. Greet audience members/renters/producers in a kind, professional and informed manner, addressing their questions, needs and concerns efficiently and thoroughly.
- Administrative Support: Complete basic administrative tasks including the creation and review of pre/post event paperwork, incident reports and other organizational support tasks as needed. Occasional basic Box Office support may be included.
- Policy & Safety Compliance: Ensure all Wood Theater Policies & Procedures are enforced, followed and respected during rental periods. Including but not limited to building security, emergency procedures and safety protocols.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure that all spaces utilized during the rental period are clean, safe and ready for use before and after events. This may include occasional set-up of tables and chairs, garbage removal, vacuuming and general touch up cleaning between scheduled janitorial cleanings.
- Technical Assistance: Very basic technical support, including turning on and troubleshooting lighting, sound, projector and other technical equipment. Serving as liaison of information or inquiries to Facilities Director for more complex or emergent technical issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Basic Theater Knowledge: Familiarity with back of house theater operations. Experience using lighting, sound and projection equipment is a plus. Training will be provided for specific systems, equipment.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in fast-paced customer facing roles with proven success in problem solving, attention to detail and excellent professional communication is desired.
- Flexible Schedule: This role consists of mostly weekday evenings and/or weekend afternoon/evenings depending on the theater’s schedule.
About the Charles R. Wood Theater: The Charles R. Wood Theater is a 501(c)3 nonprofit year-round performing arts center. We manage a 294 seat auditorium with fully professional and updated technical systems. The theater also houses a large rehearsal space, office space, technical set building space, and fully ADA compliant dressing rooms. Each year, nearly 350 events happen at the Theater, including theater performances, musicals, concerts, dance performances, meetings, parties, weddings, rehearsals, auditions, and educational classes.
