Accessible Seating

All performances at the Wood Theater offer accessible seating in the front row, in the balcony, and in the back row of the theater. Seating in the last row and in the balcony can be accessed by elevator.

Wheelchair accessible seating is also available in these locations. To accommodate wheelchairs, seats are removed from the first row to allow for patrons to remain in their wheelchair for the duration of the performance. Online, these seats will be marked with a wheelchair icon and will alert the box office to remove seats for your arrival.

Companion seats will be marked online with a “C” and are available for anyone accompanying a patron in a wheelchair or a patron needing accessible seating without steps.

The width of a standard theater seat in the main section is approximately 16 inches wide. Our balcony seats are approximately 17 seats wide. If you would feel more comfortable in a wider seat without arm rests, Balcony 19 & Balcony 20 are approximately 24 inches wide. These seats are marked in pink on all seating charts and can be purchased online.

For questions or assistance purchasing accessible seating, please call the Wood Theater Box Office at (518) 480-4878.

Accessible Hearing

Hearing Loop: All sections and seats in the Wood Theater are equipped with a Hearing Loop. A hearing loop is a system that sends clear sound to patrons with cochlear implants or hearing aids while eliminating background noise and echo. Patrons can connect to our system by toggling their device to “T” or “Telecoil” mode. If you’re not sure if your hearing device has this capability or need help determining how to get your device into the correct mode, please consult your audiologist. Some devices even offer the ability to change modes on a mobile app!

Assistive Hearing Devices: Assistive hearing devices capture the audio that is being outputted to the audience and feeds the audio stream through the assistive hearing devices. The user of the device uses headphones and can adjust the volume as needed. These devices are available to borrow at the box office.

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome to attend any performance or event at the Wood Theater. While not necessary, if you are attending a ticketed event, we recommend that you purchase an aisle seat for the comfort of you and your service animal. If you do not see an aisle seat available, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
