A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances – this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

The Magic of the holidays come alive with Adirondack Ballet Theater’s 33rd annual presentation of Tchaikovsky’s timeless holiday classic, “The Nutcracker”. ABT has the distinction of being the first dance company to perform this classical ballet at the Charles R Wood Theater, as we continue this annual holiday tradition, ABT is proud to bring this full-length ballet to community arts patrons, with over 50 local dancers, ages 4-18, local actors, and guest artists. Please join this local, critically acclaimed not for profit children’s dance company for one of its typically sold-out performances. One Christmas eve, a young girl, Clara falls asleep, and her journey begins: taking her through a Battle, Land Snow, Land of the Sweets, meeting her Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum and many other exciting characters in her magical celebration!

WOOD THEATER WORKSHOPS: ACTING

STARTS OCTOBER 17TH

Join us for a Fall Actor’s Workshop!

Throughout the course of the workshop, instructor Jarel Davidow will work with participants on a monologue or scene – either brought by you or provided for you!- and explore the elements of making a moment on stage. You’ll learn scene work, script analysis, characterization and more. This workshop is open to all actors ages 16 and up at any experience level – we’ll meet you where you’re at! The workshop will culminate in a final performance for friends and family to exhibit your monologue or scene and all your progress throughout the workshop!

Jarel Davidow is currently Artistic Director at the Lake George Dinner Theatre and has acted and directed in numerous shows nationally. Locally, Jarel has served as an adjunct theater professor at SUNY Adirondack where he directed several productions. He has also directed shows for The Charles R. Wood Theater, Curtain Call and Playfest. Jarel holds an MFA from The Actors Studio at the New School (first graduating class) and is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio. He is also a proud member of Actors Equity.

BIG GAY DRAG SHOW

JANUARY 11TH

Join Lower Adirondack Pride on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Charles R. Wood Theater for a Big Gay Drag Show. The show will feature four local queens including Ms. Kitten Kaboodle, Katarina Mirage, Merina LePearle, and Jianna Romano.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the work that Lower Adirondack Pride does within the community to build more inclusive and diverse communities.
